As we age, our faces naturally change. Sometimes that’s a product of the environment or genetics. Other times it’s due to illness or weight loss or gain. Whatever the reason, many of us would like to say goodbye to wrinkles, smile lines, hollowed-out cheeks, etc. Dermal fillers exist exactly for such a purpose—to help restore lost fullness and radiance to your face, helping you feel confident in your appearance once more. Radiesse® is one type of dermal filler you should consider for your cosmetic needs.
Dr. Adriana Lombardi is our expert dermatologist and will do both your Radiesse® consultation and your treatment at the Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Surgery Center of NJ, located in our state-of-the-art facility in Edison, New Jersey. Dr. Lombardi has extensive experience in the field of dermatology and has done hundreds of Radiesse® treatments.
Radiesse® is a dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite. This is a naturally occurring substance that is great for staying in one place and retaining shape, making it ideal for deep facial lifting in the nose, cheeks, or chin. It’s also excellent for use in the backs of the hands, where aging can be very visible.
When injected, Radiesse® not only fills out deep hollows but also helps stimulate collagen production. Collagen is what gives youthful skin its natural glow and it gradually lessens in our skin as we age. So, aside from helping plump up hollows, Radiesse® helps restore that lost radiance to your skin.
During a Radiesse® treatment, you will recline in a chair. Your dermatologist will cleanse your skin and then inject specific points with a Radiesse® solution delivered through an extremely fine needle.
Yes. Radiesse® is FDA approved. When administered by a trained dermatologist, Radiesse® is totally safe.
You could feel a slight sting where you’re injected and you might see some mild bruising or swelling. Other than that, your discomfort should be minimal.
Take a look at the before and after pictures on our procedure pages. They will give you a great idea of exactly how effective a Radiesse® treatment is. You should immediately see results, but the full effects of treatment will take approximately two weeks to show.
Radiesse® lasts anywhere from one to two years. Since it’s made of a natural substance that will naturally decay over time, the results of your treatment will slowly diminish. In order to maintain the effects of the treatment, you’ll need to book another Radiesse® appointment in a timely fashion.
We have the newest technology and top-of-the-line equipment to ensure you get the very best results. Give us a call today to inquire about why Radiesse® is totally worth the cost and book your appointment today!
